Hapag-Lloyd Cruises Unveils Routes for the 2029 Season

For your long-term vacation planning, there is exciting news: Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has unveiled its routes for the year 2029. As the cruise line announced in a press release, a total of 129 different routes are on the schedule. The journeys will take the luxury ships and the expedition fleet to destinations all over the world.

Starting immediately, you can pre-register for these cruises with no obligation online, by phone, or through your travel agency. The official booking launch with detailed information and pricing will follow on December 1, 2026. A printed brochure will be published in March 2027.

Classic Luxury Ships in Worldwide Service

The fleet's two luxury ships will head to a diverse range of regions in 2029. After a nine-year hiatus, Hawaii is back on the itinerary for the EUROPA. Her journey will take her from Panama City via Costa Rica and Mexico to the Hawaiian Islands and onward to Canada. In addition, the ship will head to South America, calling at major cities including Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and Rio de Janeiro. Southern Africa and the Mediterranean, featuring ports like Dubrovnik and Palma de Mallorca, are also on the schedule.

The EUROPA 2 will start the year in Asia and Oceania. She will set course for Australia, New Zealand, and the South Sea islands of Fiji, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia. After stops in Asian metropolises like Shanghai and voyages in the Indian Ocean, the ship will transition to Eastern Canada for the fall, where the port of Halifax, among others, will be visited. To close out the year, she will head to the Caribbean and Central America, including a holiday cruise roundtrip from the port of Miami, which also sails via Key West, Tampa, and New Orleans.

Expeditions from the Arctic to the Amazon

For those seeking adventure, the cruise line is sending its three modern expedition ships on course. Following a break in the 2027/28 season, the HANSEATIC nature will return to Norway and the Baltic Sea for winter cruises before setting course for Greenland and the Canadian Arctic in the late summer.

Her sister ship, the HANSEATIC inspiration, will offer cruises in Central America. A new destination here is Baja California during the whale migration season. Additionally, the ship will sail deep into the Amazon all the way to Iquitos and will complete Arctic expeditions around Spitsbergen in the summer, starting and ending in Longyearbyen or Tromsø.

The HANSEATIC spirit will also be traveling in the Far North. Together with the HANSEATIC nature, she will transit the Northwest Passage and travel to Antarctica at the end of the year. Another special highlight for these small expedition ships will be sailing up the River Thames directly through London's Tower Bridge.
