Holland America Line Upgrades Private Island Half Moon Cay
If you are traveling in the Caribbean with Holland America Line in the coming season, a modernized experience awaits you on the private island of Half Moon Cay. The cruise line, headquartered in Seattle, USA, is preparing its private island in the Bahamas for its 30th anniversary in 2027. The upgrades will affect more than two dozen itineraries.
Exclusive Beach Club and New Food Pavilion
According to Holland America Line, one of the most significant additions is an exclusive Beach Club. Guests can book paid day passes for this club starting in early October. The pass includes priority tender service from the ship to the island, dedicated waiter service, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, beach gear, and special food options.
For all visitors to the island, a new, complimentary Food Pavilion is also available, offering a Caribbean-inspired barbecue menu. In addition, existing bars and restaurants on the island have been renovated.
More Comfort and Sports on the Beach
Alongside the dining facilities, the cruise line has also upgraded the recreational options and lounging areas on Half Moon Cay. According to the company, the cabanas have been modernized and the number of beach beds has been increased. In addition, new two-person sunshades and extra beach chairs are available.
Those looking to stay active will find four pickleball courts on the island, which were already introduced last season.
According to Beth Bodensteiner, President of Holland America Line, the measures aim to make the time ashore even more enjoyable for guests: "Every enhancement on RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay is focused on creating an even more exceptional experience while building on what guests already love about the island," she is quoted as saying in the press release.
