Oceania Cruises: New World Cruises and Segments for 2028

For your long-term travel planning, the luxury cruise line Oceania Cruises has introduced new options. If you do not wish to spend the full six months at a time on board, you can now book the first 180-day world cruise of the new fleet member Oceania Aurelia in 2028 in twelve different, shorter segments.

More Flexible Route Planning for the 2028 World Cruise

As Oceania Cruises announced in a press release, twelve segments of Oceania Aurelia's first world cruise for the year 2028 are now available for booking. These segments range from 10 to 19 days. They offer you the opportunity to experience selected portions of the global itinerary without completing the entire 180-day voyage.

The segments on offer include, for example:

• Two Oceans Odyssey: A 17-day cruise starting January 19, 2028, from the port of Miami to Los Angeles through the Panama Canal.
• South Pacific Serenade: 19 days from Papeete to Sydney starting February 23, 2028, including stops in the port of Bora Bora and the port of Lautoka.
• Isles of the Orient: A 14-day voyage from Bali to Taipei starting March 27, 2028.
• Pearls of East Asia: 12 days from Taipei to Tokyo starting April 10, 2028, with stops such as the port of Busan and the port of Nagasaki.
• Treasures of Southeast Asia: 12 days from the port of Hong Kong to the port of Ho Chi Minh City and on to Bangkok starting May 2, 2028.
• Timeless Mediterranean: 14 days from the metropolis in the port of Istanbul to the port of Barcelona starting June 20, 2028, with stopovers such as the port of Nice.

Two World Cruises and a Redesigned Ship

As reported by the editorial team of Schiffe und Kreuzfahrten, Oceania Aurelia is not a newbuild, but the former Nautica of the R-class built in 2000, which is being extensively redesigned into an exploration ship. The vessel accommodates fewer than 500 guests and begins its maiden season in November 2027 in the Mediterranean.

According to the report by Schiffe und Kreuzfahrten, two major world cruises are scheduled for 2028 and 2029:

• World Cruise 2028: Departs January 18, 2028, from Miami with a ship christening before departure and travels in 180 days across the Pacific, Australia (with overnight stays in the port of Mumbai and in Sydney), Asia, and the Mediterranean to New York.
• World Cruise 2029: Begins January 6, 2029, in Los Angeles and travels via South America, Easter Island, the Pacific, Asia, and the Mediterranean, also ending in New York.

As another alternative for shorter getaways, the editorial team mentions two so-called "Grand Voyages" in 2028: a 78-day Northern Europe itinerary from New York to the port of Boston, and a 71-day South America cruise from Miami to Los Angeles. Reservations for these voyages are already open.
