Norwegian Aura: Whitney Houston Show and Entertainment Revealed

When you step on board the new Norwegian Aura in spring 2027, a diverse entertainment lineup awaits you. As the cruise line Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) announced in a press release, the new cruise ship will celebrate a major music legend starting May 2027: the show "Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston" will be the centerpiece of the onboard entertainment.

The ship is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy and, according to a report by Cruise Industry News, already celebrated its float-out in April.

Tribute to a Pop Legend in the Aura Theatre & Club

The 45-minute tribute show was developed in collaboration with the Estate of Whitney Houston and music publisher Primary Wave Music. NCL promises a modern concert production with live vocals, a live band, and visual effects, performed in the three-story Aura Theatre & Club. You can expect to hear the singer's famous hits such as "I Will Always Love You" or "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)".

Following the cruise line's establishment of shows for Prince on Norwegian Aqua and Elton John on Norwegian Luna, NCL is continuing its series of artist tributes. Pat Houston, executor of the singer's estate, is quoted in the press release: "Whitney loved cruising. Her fans and supporters will have a nostalgic experience as they witness the extraordinary artistry and live music of Whitney Houston, performed by world-class musicians at sea."

Acrobatics, Live Music, and Nightlife

Alongside the main show, NCL has announced further entertainment options for Norwegian Aura:

• "ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed": Another 45-minute illusion and acrobatics show featuring visual effects.
• "The Vinyl Republic": A new live music collective performing throughout the ship, presenting two themed shows in the theater – a rock show honoring the band Journey and a late-night country party.
• "LunaTique: Pop Circus": Returning to a larger stage according to Seatrade Cruise News, this extra-charge variety and nightlife show for adults originally debuted on Norwegian Luna.
• Pool Party and Welcome Show: The program is rounded off with "Latin LIVE!" by the pool and the opening show "Aura FIRST NIGHT".

The Inaugural Season of Norwegian Aura

The maiden voyage of Norwegian Aura departs on May 21, 2027, as a seven-day Mediterranean cruise from the Hafen Trieste to the Hafen Barcelona, with stops at the Hafen Valletta as well as Salerno and Civitavecchia (Rome). After a 13-day transatlantic crossing, the ship will reach its new homeport, the Hafen Miami.

From June to October 2027, seven-day cruises to the Eastern Caribbean are on the schedule, visiting the Hafen Puerto Plata as well as St. Thomas, Tortola, and the private island Great Stirrup Cay. In the winter of 2027/2028, the ship will switch to Western Caribbean itineraries. These will visit the Hafen Roatan, the Hafen Costa Maya, the Hafen Cozumel, and NCL's private destination, the Hafen Harvest Caye in Belize.
